There is only a ten years tradition to conduct such charitable parades. Bears, tortoises, cows and pigs  participate in parades in many cities of the world. The first parade took place in Zurich in 1998. Plastic-made and quaint coloured cows were exhibited. That year more than million tourists visited Zurich and the quantities of sale increased on 30 %.

We choose lions for St-Petersburg because we think that lions correspond to the soul and image of the city. There are many lions in stone and bronze on the avenues, on the fronts of the magnificent buildings, in the undercover corners of the city and in the historical suburbs.

Actions like this are always turn to the charity. The “procession of lions” is not  an exclusion. After the parade the welfare will refuse to the most neediest people: to the homeless children and to the poor families. In summer natives and the guests of our city can admire the coloured lions on the streets, squares and in the parks of the city. In autumn the charity auction will take place and everyone can buy a lion.
